What's fahmon and why update it?

What is fahmon?

fahmon is a monitoring tool for folding@home clients written by François Ingelrest (athropos_666). The official website can be found here: http://fahmon.silent-blade.org. fahmon is written in C++ and uses the wxwidgets/wxGTK libraries to allow it to be compiled for both Windows and Linux from the same source. Technically it could even be compiled for MacOSX if you really wanted.

Why update it?

The main purpose for me updating the official release of fahmon is to add features not currently available in the official versions, and which are not likely to be added for some time. François may decide to incorporate some, all or none of these changes into his next build of fahmon, but since we don't know when that will be, I'm trying to keep fahmon up to date with the new clients that are around now, and to fix any bugs I find.

Another reason would be: Because I can...its GPL'd after all ;)

What I am not

I am in not attempting to replace François in being the developer of FahMon, merely providing some interim builds that fix issues with the official builds. All patches will be submitted to François for his approval for inclusion in the next official FahMon build.
